Mike Braisher produces a range of oxidised/reduced stoneware and occasionally porcelain pieces. His specialism is thrown ware, particularly large platters, chargers, pitchers and domestic wares.
Over the years Mike has travelled to New Zealand many times where he has been invited to demonstrate and be an Artist in Residence at Driving Creek in the Coromandel.
Other career highlights to date include being awarded the Brian Bearne Award for his exhibition display with the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts in Exeter. He has also received several awards from London Potters, who invited him to demonstrate at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Mike’s work has been sold through Bonhams in Knightsbridge.B
About The Artist
Mike is self taught and has been making pots since 1953. He was inspired to do more after demonstrating for Princess Marina and receiving a Leach pot from his art teacher at the time. Mike lives and works in Lyndhurst, New Forest.
