Stained Glass

Seaview Studio mixes traditional stained glass techniques with contemporary concepts to create original bespoke stained glass windows, glasswork art and sculptures.

Created by Jo Munford, much of Jo’s work is a 3D fusion of glass, metal and foraged wood adding a new dimension to a traditional technique. Each piece is inspired by the wood, structure or space it will inhabit and is typically a one off by its very nature giving each client something really unique.

Both nature and the coast are strong influences in the work, glass choices compliment the designs and often encompass beautiful bubbles, streaks, striations, patterns and colour fades. Touches of glass paint and wire details add subtle details without over complicating the design maintaining a fresh contemporary look.

About The Artist

The face behind Seaview Studio is Jo Munford. Jo initially trained as a textile designer at Derby University, achieving a First-Class Honours degree, then followed a career specifying interior furnishings for superyachts. Three years ago she retrained, learning the skill of traditional lead light work and is self taught in the ‘Tiffany’ technique. Her origins in design, graphic textiles and love of the ‘Arts and Craft Movement’ marries perfectly with her eye for quality, precision and detail.

With both the coast and the New Forest nearby, Jo’s work is influenced by nature and her surroundings, as well as her long career in the marine industry and love of the sea.

Jo loves a creative and technical challenge, pushing the concept of traditional stained glass while ensuring that her work is constructed to the highest quality and built to perform.
