BearWood are a remarkable woodworking company as they specialise in taking timber from tree to table. Over the last ten years, BearWood’s services have expanded from tree care, mobile sawmilling and selling timber, to bespoke woodwork using timber that they have taken down and processed themselves. This allows them to know the story behind each piece of wood that they work with and guarantee that it was sustainably felled in the New Forest. Locally grown, locally milled, locally made.
About The Artist
BearWood was founded by Alex and Rebecca Tindle in 2016.
Alex has over 20 years of working as an arborist in the New Forest and has seen too many beautiful pieces of timber cut up for firewood.
Frustrated by the life cycle of this under-appreciated resource and modern-day throwaway culture, Alex began to craft unique pieces from timber rescued from the worksite, starting with whittled spoons and building-up to statement furniture, now featured in many prominent places in the New Forest (and further afield!).
BearWood are passionate about their independent, family-run business, and pride themselves on knowing the story behind each piece of wood that they work with.
