Nic Monks Jewellery

Jewellery

Nic combines silver, a precious metal traditionally associated with fine jewellery, with salvaged Formica and wood, non-precious elements typically found in everyday objects. His jewellery challenges conventional expectations and celebrates the beauty in contrasts.

He takes his inspirations from the materials he has at hand and enjoys the creative process of elevating these discarded materials turning them into beautiful, wearable pieces of jewellery.

About The Artist

Nic moved from a career in IT to one creating jewellery from recycled silver and recovered materials.
In the process of creating his first collections, he realised that the process of working across disciplines and with mixed and salvaged materials provided the creative spark that has inspired his ongoing exploration of his craft.

His collections include:
Winter Leaves – 2022 – recycled silver leaf shapes backed with recovered furniture-grade wood. Organic and tactile
Autumn Leaves – 2022 – copper leaf shapes backed with recovered furniture-grade wood. Rich, warm and organic
Chroma – 2023 – Formica and recycled silver in minimalist geometric shapes. Modern and understated
Lignum – 2024 – architecturally-inspired shapes in recycled silver and fine woods. Elegant and eye-catching
