Sculptures

Jacqueline’s work combines anodised aluminium and copper wire to produce colourful and contemporary sculpture. Her work is made up of simple forms with graphic prints of flowers, seedpods and geometric shapes and her sculptures resemble meadow grasses, flowers, birds and fish.

Anodised aluminium is an electrochemical process that creates an anodic film on the metals surface allowing it to readily absorb inks and dyes. The metal can be printed or dipped into special dyes and once steamed the colour is set and ready for use. As an artist it is a great material to use for jewellery as its lightweight, and there are endless possibilities for dyeing, patterning and printing. Her designs are influenced by her walks in the countryside and she’s constantly in awe of the visual treasures that nature has to offer.

Jacqueline has been involved in running art collectives, and pop up shops giving other artists the opportunity to sell and showcase their work.

About The Artist

Jacqueline trained in Three Dimensional Design at the University for the Creative Arts. Graduating in 2009 with a First Class honours degree. She then spent a year at the university as Artist in Residence helping other students with their degree work. Following that Jacqueline set up her own studio from her home to work part time making sterling silver jewellery, alongside working as a technician in Design and Technology at a local senior school. She happened to take part in a one day workshop learning how to dye anodised aluminium and immediately became hooked with the process, and the opportunity to add a colourful dimension to her work. Now she works full time making jewellery and sculpture at her studio near Salisbury, where she also runs workshops teaching others this wonderful process.
